Chelsea Old Town Hall Wedding Photographer

Updated December 25

If you’ve ever found yourself walking down the Kings Road in Chelsea on a Friday or Saturday afternoon, you’ve probably seen people lining the steps and throwing confetti, with a photographer trying not to get hit by a bus. Welcome to Chelsea Old Town Hall, one of the most beautiful registry offices in London.

With ceremony rooms perfect for small intimate micro weddings as well as much larger ceremony rooms, perfect for big celebrations it has everything you could need from a registry venue as part of your London wedding celebrations.

The steps can get busy in peak summer weekends and while you’ll have plenty of time for confetti and a few group shots and portraits after your ceremony, you may be asked to move along fairly quickly as the next ceremony ends so transport for your guests onwards is a must.

It is surrounded by boutique London hotels, restaurants bars and pubs making it easy to get to if you’re from out of London and are looking for somewhere to stay beforehand. The art’otel at the refurbished Battersea Power Station is a modern marvel and is just a quick cab across the Albert bridge offering stunning views of the river and Battersea Park (and is perfect for some portraits before your ceremony).

The other benefit of the Chelsea Old Town Hall, is that it is nestled amongst some beautiful, quiet back streets, perfect for a lovely city walk and some stunning portraits. There are spots in both directions, with the Albert Bridge a 10-15 minute walk (and Battersea Park on the other side of it), as well as Smith street with its colourful houses to the north. There’s even a traditional old red phonebox a short walk away - as well as some nice pubs on the way in case you get thirsty.

Virtually anywhere around is easy to find a black cab to move onto your next venue (or the tube at Sloane Sq). One couple even opted for the bus to the National Theatre!
