“We got married at the end of August at Lains Barn, and booked Max about 16ish months in advance (we could not recommend getting in early enough!).

Max was friendly and really easy to talk to from the get go, and he was also excited about the things for our wedding that meant a lot to us e.g., the personal details/all the DIY bits we had done, and made sure to capture these beautifully on the day. He was also really calming and easygoing on the wedding morning, despite an incredibly busy household where the bridal party were getting ready.

We also had a difficult lead up to the wedding for personal reasons, and Max was so adaptive and compassionate, which made a huge difference to our anticipation of the day.

And that's not even about his actual photography! Max's talent for what he does cannot be understated. His ability to capture our personalities in our photos was amazing, and his documentary style was so natural and 'candid' that we didn't really feel we were being photographed at times, we were just spending time together.

With group shots, we didn't want to spend a long time doing these, and Max was great at getting movement and energy from everyone quickly so that we could get back to our reception, and the photos are joyous!”

“You must book Max as your wedding photographer! He has been amazing from start to finish. In the planning phases he was completely on-board with discussing specific ideas we had to personalising our day.

Max is incredibly friendly, approachable and confident, without being in your face. I was a bit nervous about having my photo taken, especially coupley/kissy photos as my partner and I aren't normally like that in public, but Max put us right at ease. The engagement photoshoot was excellent in making us realise what beautiful photos he can create when we were just walking around a forest occasionally giving each other a little peck/hug. I would highly recommend the package with the engagement shoot to have the opportunity to meet Max ahead of the big day and see the stunning results ahead of the big day – it really put our minds at ease that the photos would be incredible.

On the day he was brilliant by making everyone feel at ease. He also struck a great balance of photos of us/close family vs all the other guests vs the decor/details of the day. Some of the photos are so close up you’d think the camera was in your face all day, but honestly on the day we barely even noticed he was there (in a good way!), and he really let us enjoy the moments without making us pose/taking us away from all our loved ones.

As a mixed raced couple, one of our concerns about the photos was the balancing of brightness to ensure all skin tones looked natural. Max did this perfectly with everything from church to daytime to golden hour photos coming out looking beautiful.”

“I don’t think 5 stars does Max enough justice for just how good he was for my wife and I. He captured every aspect of our unusual wedding perfectly and we couldn’t have asked for more. In the build up to the wedding Max was very helpful and open in communication which really put us at ease.

Nothing about our wedding phased him at all and he was very receptive to any ideas we had. Our wedding was not very traditional, but nothing was a problem to Max and the end product was absolutely gorgeous and we couldn’t be happier.

Max is also very reasonably priced, unlike a lot of London photographers, but his output is still top of the range. Could not recommend him enough.”

“If you are looking for a photographer who will capture every second of your day without you even noticing he's there, Max is your guy.

His documentary style photography is incredible. Max was fantastic, not only was he a calming influence, he knew exactly what would work and wouldn't. He went along with my bridesmaids mad ideas and captured every second of love, laughter and emotion.

We received our sneak previews so quickly, which just made us hungry for more! The final photos are a wonderful mixture of candid snaps that allow us to relive every second of a day which goes by in a flash!

“Max was absolutely brilliant from the first contact to wedding day to receiving our final photos. We booked Max off the back of a recommendation and can honestly say we couldn't have asked for a better photographer.

Max fit in seamlessly on the day and truly added to the whole experience. As well as getting beautiful photos, he also kept us calm and gave us lots of helpful advice. We had a gaggle of kids to wrangle for family photos, and Max dealt with it expertly!

We finished all our "official" photos super quickly without feeling rushed, so we could get back to celebrating. Max managed to capture the most amazing photos, but never once felt intrusive or in the way.

Somehow he managed to take 2 usually camera shy and self professed un-photogenic people and create a gallery of beautiful pictures.

“Max is an absolutely incredible photographer! After securing our venue we immediately booked Max for our wedding - having already captured my sister's and brother's weddings we knew we were in safe hands with Max!

Max manages to capture photos throughout the day in a variety of different styles and the whole experience felt really effortless. My husband and I aren't naturals in front of the camera and thought it might be a bit awkward on the day but it wasn't at all and I know a lot of that was down to Max.

A lot of our guests have also commented on how great Max was at coordinating everyone on the day, which isn't an easy task when 85 adults are scattered around a large venue!

“It is honestly impossible to articulate just how fantastic Max is. He goes almost completely unnoticed in the background capturing every magical detail of your big day. He's somehow able to put you completely at ease whilst also making you feel like he's not there simultaneously.

Having our couple photos taken was probably one of the parts we were dreading most about our day, but thanks to Max it was one of the parts we enjoyed the most.
